The day the team has been waiting for has finally come and gone, the Mocingbird Picnic 2021. The team shared tons of laughs, food, drinks, surprises, and friendly competition. Although it seems that we have known each other for a long time, for some, it was the first time we met in person with members of the team traveling from California, New York, and Massachusetts. To recap, here are some of the highlights of the picnic:

The Big Announcement:

Although we virtually see each other every day, the team was overwhelmed with joy from the surprise of another pregnancy announcement. We absolutely cannot wait to have two baby birds join the Mocingbird family!

The pregnancy excitement continued as the team guessed the baby’s gender before having a gender reveal. If you guessed correctly (or if you didn’t), you walked away with delicious blue jelly beans.

The Competition:

The Mocingbird team took backyard sports to the next level by having an intense cornhole tournament. With five working games at a time, excitement and tensions were high. With many close games, Kyle and Greg named the 2021 cornhole champions walking away with bragging rights and local Rhode Island prizes.

The Food and Drink:

After working up an appetite, the team all came together to enjoy some delicious barbeque grilled by Dr. Ian Madom. Many tasted Rhode Island must-haves such as Allie's Donuts and Del's Lemonade for the first time. Whether you decided to eat Del’s as is or make it your own “adult Del’s” by adding alcohol, the team got to enjoy some local favorites.

Although it is not often when the Mocingbird team gets together it is always a blast! Special thanks to everyone, especially Juell, for planning and Ian for hosting this fun event. We cannot wait until we get together again and to have two little birds join the nest!
