License Renewal Cycle Time for Pennsylvania

  • Pennsylvania state licenses for NPs must be renewed every 2 years.

Board Rule Checklist: State of Pennsylvania (NP)

  • Complete a minimum of 30 hours of Board-approved continuing education
    • Due date: Every 2 years
  • Complete at least 2 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting requirements 
    • Due date: Every 2 years
  • If you have prescriptive authority: 
    • Of the 30 hours of continuing education, complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education in pharmacology 
      • Due date: Every 2 years
    • Of the 30 hours of continuing education, complete a minimum of 2 hours of continuing education in pain management, the identification of addiction or in the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids 
      • Due date: Every 2 years
