License Renewal Cycle Time for Pennsylvania

  • Pennsylvania state licenses for PAs must be renewed on 12/31, every even-numbered year.
    • Example: If you renew your license on 12/31 of 2020, your next renewal will be on 12/31 of 2022.

Board Rule Checklist: State of Pennsylvania (PA)

  • Maintain current NCCPA Certification
    • Due date: Every 2 years
  • If you are within 2 years of your initial license date: 
    • You do not need to comply with the continuing education requirements listed below
  • Complete 2 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting requirements
    • Due date: Every 2 years 
  • If you have prescriptive authority: Complete at least 2 hours of continuing education in pain management, the identification of addiction, or in the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids 
    • Due date: Every 2 years
